Design
The IC-1024 Falconer is a dedicated interceptor, boasting extremely high speed in a straight line. To achieve such speeds, it has significantly less armor and firepower than the similarly-sized Vengeance assault corvette, however such things are not necessary for its mission profile.
The Falconer is a potent anti-voidfighter ship, armed with a full sixteen point-defense lasers with a broad field of fire. These lasers are individually powerful enough to easily destroy any swarmcraft in a single shot, though they may require some focused fire to engage heavy fighters. Against capital ships they are entirely inneffectual, as most of the Falconers generators are used for propulsion, only producing power from waste heat. These nuclear rockets are also not as responsive as more traditional magnetohydrodynamic drives. However, they provide the Falconer with extreme speed- sufficient to catch almost any voidfighter.
The Falconer is not an escort ship; it is not utilized in a defensive role, as other Cytaari ships point defense is more than adequate for self defense. Rather, the Falconer's role is interception, hunting down and destroying enemy fighters and swarmcraft on its own, while relying on its speed to evade more powerful warships. It is not as agile as a voidfighter, but due to its weapons covering every possible angle of attack this is not a large problem- enemy fighters performing fancy maneuvers will not be able to escape the extremely fast Falconer.
Due to the many independently targeting weapons, the Falconer has an unusually powerful neural spire for a ship of its size, and requires two pilots.
