Sozlo

Abilities and Equipment

Sozlo are armed with long sharp claws as well as sharp teeth. Despite claims by the native tribes, they do not seem to be innately magical creatures, though they do possess some resonant characteristics and their essence can be used as a ritual reagent of some note.

They are decently protected by their thick skin, blubbery coat, and fur, though it does not compare to proper armor.

The subject of some repute by the native tribes, the Sozlo is a large mammal native to the Auroric penninsula. Rumored to be descended from the White Spirit of the great swamp, they are well respected and feared by Auroric tribesmen and the ice dragar alike.

Still, they are animals nonetheless, and hunting teams will sometimes fight them if they have the advantage of numbers. Sozlo's are dangerous creatures, possessing speed, strength, and durability alike. They are omnivorous creatures, usually foraging for plants in the summer and hunting in the winter. They possess strong senses which enable them to locate prey nesting under the snow or hibernating in caves, while their white coats provide perfect camoflage in the snow.

Sozlo's are mournful looking creatures with triangular heads, long snouts, and sleek bodies, somewhat resembling a sloth in general stature. They walk on four legs, but are able to stand up on two legs which they often do while posturing for combat. Their long, blade-like claws are dangerous in melee and their main weapon, though they are also able to use their fanged mouths with some success. Under their white coat they possess thick, blubbery, black skin which is an excellent source of nutrition.

Sozlo's are surprisingly adaptive creatures. Sometimes they are solitary, but females often form packs and cooperatively raise their offspring. Because they were the apex predator of their territory, Sozlo's are not adapted to be afraid of others even in large numbers; because of this, hungry packs of Sozlo's are prone to attacking civilized settlements, unwary of the danger. This makes them quite dangerous creatures, and many a hermit has gone missing when a Sozlo has become hungry.

Iceweb Beetle-spider

Abilities and Equipment

Quick moving and with deadly venom, Iceweb beetle-spiders are primarily ambush predators, hiding in the snow with their glistening white chitin. Unusually, they primarily hunt during the winter months and nest in the summer, taking advantage of the cold which they are practically immune to.

A large arachnid, about the size of a large dog, from the Auroric Penninsula and Firjaris. They spin large webs as nests, and are able to inject a freezing venom which will inflict frostbite and preserve their prey for later consumption. Their tough chitin seems perpetually cold, regardless of circumstance.
