Hyatic Mountains
-
Location: East of the Abyssal Sea and Blackwater Gulf, west of the Eastern Kingdoms, south of the Eastern Badlands
-
Environment: Tall and steep mist-enwreathed mountains, rainforest at lower elevations
Civilization
The Hyatic mountains are lightly populated, with the largest population centers being Dwarrow colonies on the western shore. Tribes, mostly originating from the Auroran Penninsula, commonly hunt in the mountains during summer, though the difficult terrain somewhat dissuades them. On the easternmost sides of the mountains, villages owing fealty to cities in the eastern kingdoms dot the sides, mostly mines. And on the northern edge, Dragar have some presence.
Geography
The Hyatic Mountains are a series of tall, mist-enwreathed mountains stretching above a verdant jungle. Particularly near Blackwater Gulf, the mountains are drenched in rain and mist, rocky spires stretching high up into the sky. Deep trenches run between the mountains, filled with rivers and lakes that feed into the Abyssal Sea or Blackwater Gulf.
History
The Hyatic mountains have largely been uninhabited for recorded history, owing primarily to its proximity to the Heartlands and Abyssal Sea. Tribes frequently occupy the land for brief periods of time, however it has not largely attracted large numbers of people. In recent times, however, the Dwarrow have lead a colonization effort.
