Infernal

Abilities and Equipment

A titan of fire and scales, the Flamelurker is at home in heat and pressure. In one hand it wields a massive glaive, while its other is a blackened claw holding a chaotic maelstrom of flame.

Possessing both divine sorcery and titanic strength, the Flamelurker could easily cleave through entire battallions, its flesh harder than steel and its molten glaive able to carve its way through rock, steel, and bare flesh alike.

Its divine powers enable it to summon pillars of molten rock from the earth, call hails of blazing meteors from the sky, or bathe its foes in a fiery maelstrom.

A humanoid creature of molten rock and blazing heat, the flamelurkers body is a mixture of elemental flame, magma, and crimson scales, vaguely serpentine in aspect, with molten fire taking the place of features on its face. A long, serpentine tail ends in a fierce flame, while a crown of half-melted gold adorns its head.

Where this creature came from is unknown, and it does not feature strongly in any known legends. Certainly it is a divine creature of massive resonant energy, with lava for blood beneath its scaled exterior. How such a powerful and seemingly ancient entity could have escaped notice is unknown.

Primordial Nightmare

Abilities and Equipment

Primordial Nightmares possess immense power both physically and psychically, capable of advanced telekinesis, telepathy, and emotional projection. These powers enable them to turn weaker-willed creatures into puppets, or consume them with unnatural terror.

They are powerful in melee as well, although their natural weapons vary they often take the form of scythe-like blades and powerful jaws.

Primordial Nightmares also often possess extremely powerful Resonance's which bleed into the area around them, turning their lairs into pits of black magic, inanimate objects coming to life and the native flora and fauna being bent by their overwhelming power.

Despite this, Primordial Nightmares are seemingly not divine creatures, and possess no natural sorcery. While it is possible for a Primordial Nightmare to learn sorcery, it is not guaranteed. Another unusual trait is that, despite their power, they have comparatively less Lifeforce than comparable entities (although still greater than the average mortal); instead possessing massive quantities of Spiritforce.

Native to the northern reaches of the 'Shadowlands' in western Auria, no two Primordial Nightmare's are exactly the same. They most often have an anthropoidal appearance, and virtually always are jet black, wreathed in black flame or light- though dramatically different appearances have been noted from creatures which still seem to be Primordial Nightmares.

The form of the Primordial Nightmare is of little importance, for regardless they are ancient creatures of immense power, typically dwelling in lairs deep beneath the earth and only coming forth when seeking sustenance. But it is not food or water these creatures crave, but the enticing taste of mortal fear.

The mere presence of a Primordial Nightmare is more than most creatures can withstand, as waves of divine terror emanate from their monstrous forms. Even their flesh seems ethereal, wavering from one shape to the next with little care. This fear is a holdover from a distance day when such creatures stalked the land, preying on mortals at will.

Tendrils of psychic energy sprawl out from them, seeking a weakness in their foes psyche; once found, it will exploit it mercilessly, treating them to visions of terror and horror. Their victims, once bound, are dragged away to the lair of the Nightmare, their ability to perceive reality diminishing more and more as the nightmare's power over them grows, eventually leaving nothing more than a shattered husk. At this point, their victim no longer able to provide that delectable flavor, the Nightmare will consume their body and venture forth once more.

Thankfully for the world at large, Primordial Nightmares are few in number, and only rarely need to feed- a single mortal can fuel their dark hunger for many long years.

The origin of these creatures is steeped in mystery. While some believe they are somehow related to the Abyss-spawn- certainly many similarities exist between the dread creatures of the Shadowlands and the Abyss of Khora in the east- those more attuned to the mystic arts will detect a subtle but distinct difference.

Blighthund

Abilities and Equipment

Blighthunds are deadly hunters, fast moving and long-winded. They will pursue to the point of utter exhaustion, and have an excellent sense of smell, making them lethal trackers.

Close up, they attack with savage jaws and leaping claws, their rancid breathe choking their foes.

A sickly green, dog-like creature with leathery skin and lipless jaws, Blighthunds are the result of stagnant magic. Blight magic forms from discordant wild magic, intensifying hunger, disease, and discord. As such, Blight is naturally drawn to places of poverty or decay.

Blighthunds are ravenous creature who know only hunger, representing the basest forms of Blight; the raw, pervasive hunger. They will pursue their quarry to the point of exhaustion, unusually soulful eyes staring at their desired foe but revealing suffering rather than malice.

They are dangerous creatures with dark resonant signatures, whose presence will only contribute further to the decay of their territory.

Heliosaur

Abilities and Equipment

In addition to physical capabilities generally superior to an Allosaur, Heliosaur's can radiate beams of light energy through their eyes or mouths, cloak their bodies in a shining mesh of radiant energy, or slash with light-infused claws that burn and rip through even solid metal.

An archosaur with a bipedal body shape, comparable to a raptor, and overall size comparable to a small elephant. Its halo-shaped horn appears similar to the Flamelurker's "crown", suggesting a possible shared history. The Heliosaur sparks with luminous power, and a ball of plasma rests in the gap formed by the halo-shaped horn. Beyond that it is a well-muscled archosaur with bright scales and luminous divine power.
